Combine two of Stockholm’s most famous museums with a scenic ferry ride, and what do you get? Our Stockholm Highlights Accessible Private Walking Tour. From the City Hall to the Vasa Museum, it’s almost too good to be true!
The story about the tour
Did someone say highlights? Coming right up! On our Stockholm Highlights Accessible Private Walking Tour, we’ll take a closer look at the marvellous Vasa Museum and the stunning City Hall, and we, of course, can’t forget… the Old Town of Stockholm.
Beginning at the City Hall, we’ll learn about the home of the Stockholm City Council and the Nobel Prize Banquet. During our visit (accessible via ramp and elevator), we’ll cover questions like: Why is the Blue Hall not blue?… How many steps are there to climb to the top of the tower?… How many bricks were used to create the building?… And many more!
As the Stockholm City Hall (accessible via ramp and elevator) location offers a beautiful view of the Old Town, that will be our next stop. The cobbled streets take us past The Royal Palace, onto the main square Stortorget and the Stockholm Cathedral. Our walk of Stockholm’s Old Town ends by the Djurgården Ferry (accessible via ramp), which takes us across the harbour to the island of Djurgården. The ferry ride only takes 10-15 minutes, and as we cruise, we’ll take the opportunity to enjoy Stockholm from the water.
Arriving on the island of Djurgården, we’ll take a short walk to the Vasa Museum, the world’s most visited maritime museum. Built by too many men and 1000 oaks, the ship only sailed for a few kilometres; after 333 years on the bottom of the sea, the beauty that is the Vasa now lays before you almost entirely intact.
To close the circle, we return back to the city centre via public transport, ending in the “backyard” of the Royal Opera at the park Kungsträdgården (“The King’s Garden”).
