The story about the tour
Stockholm Highlights? Let us show you! On our Accessible Private Driving Tour: Stockholm Highlights, we’ll take a closer look at the striking City Hall, the magnificent Vasa Museum, and we, of course, couldn’t forget… the picturesque Old Town of Stockholm.
We begin the tour by picking you up in an accessible van, complete with a ramp making it possible to stay seated in a wheelchair or scooter as we drive along the many islands and the mainland of Stockholm. Once securely fastened, we’ll hit the road for a scenic drive, zooming from one place to next. We’ll see places like the medieval Old Town, the posh district of Östermalm, and the modern city centre.
At the City Hall (accessible via ramps and elevator), we’ll learn about the home of the Stockholm City Council and the Nobel Prize Banquet. During our visit, we’ll cover questions like: How much gold is in the Golden Hall?… How many guests are invited to the Nobel Banquet?… How many bricks were made by hand?… And many more!
Arriving on Djurgården, we’ll visit the Vasa Museum, the world’s most visited maritime museum. Built by a team of Swedes and Dutch and primarily Polish oaks (don’t tell the Swedes of the time that!), the ship only sailed for a small stretch. Nearly entirely intact after 333 years on the bottom of the harbour, the grand Vasa warship is still a wonder to marvel at.
After gaping at the splendour of the former Swedish Empire’s navy, we return back to the city centre, ending where we set sail from.
