The Vasa Ship is known as one of Sweden’s biggest failures – yet we celebrate it with a museum. Get to know the story behind the ship that was going to showcase Sweden’s greatness but only lasted 20 minutes on the water.
On Salute & Salvation from Nynäshamn, we’ll also take you around town. The inner-city of Stockholm is split into the areas of Södermalm, Norrmalm, Djurgården, Östermalm and Gamla stan, and you’re about to see them all from the comfort of your backseat. Step out to stretch your legs on the cobblestoned streets of Gamla stan (the Old Town), before its time to take you back to Nynäshamn port and your ship. At the end of the day and your Stockholm shore excursion, let’s see which ship you prefer! (Secretly, we hope it’s Vasa.)
