Stockholm ist eine grüne Hauptstadt in vielerlei Hinsicht – die Stadt hat viele Grünflächen und Parks zu bieten, wurde aber auch mit der Auszeichnung „Grüne Hauptstadt Europas“ gekürt.
Das Wasser in der Innenstadt eignet sich nicht nur gut zum Schwimmen, sondern kann auch ganz sorglos getrunken werden (der Geschmack ist allerdings fraglich, und somit raten wir auch davon ab). 98% aller Schweden recyceln Abfall und verwenden ihn zur Energiegewinnung wieder. In anderen Worten ausgedrückt, hier in Schweden nehmen wir unsere Abfälle sehr ernst. In puncto Umwelt sind die Schweden nicht viel anders: Wundern Sie sich nicht, wenn Sie moderne Wikinger auf ihren Drahteseln mitten im Schneesturm durch die Stadt radeln sehen. Nicht ohne Grund gibt es hierzulande die Redewendung: Es gibt kein schlechtes Wetter, nur schlechte Kleidung.
Die Stadtführung Grüne Hauptstadt führt Sie vom kirschblütenübersäten (leider nur für ein paar Wochen im Jahr!) Königskarten (Kungsträdgården) bis hin zur grünen Lunge der Stadt, Djurgården. Dieses ehemalige königliche Jagdrevier lässt sich bis zum 17. Jahrhundert zurückdatieren.
Dazwischen werden Sie auch die Gelegenheit bekommen, einen Spaziergang durch den ersten Nationalstadtpark der Welt, den Ekoparken, zu machen. Diese große grüne Oase zieht sich bis ins Stockholmer Archipel. Auch werden Sie auf dieser Tour die beiden Gewässer sehen, die die Stadt Stockholm umgeben.
Sehr schnell werden Sie verstehen, warum Stockholm zu einer Vorzeigestadt für andere europäische Städte geworden ist. Time to go green!
