Take a seat, put on your seatbelt and let’s hit the road for our Oslo On Wheels Private Driving Tour! The city of Oslo is waiting for you and has lots to share. Start off with a hello to your personal driver and private guide, and then we’re off, zooming around the city and seeing all the famous sights.
Heads up! We are passing Rådhusplassen, the square home, to the Nobel Peace Center and Oslo City Hall. How is the city of Oslo governed, and why is the Nobel Peace Prize handed out in Oslo?! Great questions! We’ll make sure to answer them along the way. No time to let your mind wander as we roll, and you don’t want to miss out! Have your camera ready as we pass The National Theatre (home to Ibsen’s renowned works), Karl Johans gate (the place to find a Norwegian sweater or troll to bring home), and the Parliament (well, we all know what happens there). Don’t forget to salute the King as we pass the Royal Palace!
Next up, out to nature! Norwegians enjoy spending free time in their pristine natural surroundings, so it’s fitting that we do the same. Driving through charming city suburbs and by lush forests, we make for the top of Holmenkollen. Stretch your legs; it’s time to hop off for a photoshoot! What’s the object? A giant jumping hill is in front of you, meaning we have arrived at Holmenkollen Ski Jump! This immense beauty has been a true Norwegian tourist attraction since the 1890s, and it’s not for nothing. Holmenkollen hosts ski competitions (did we mention that Norwegians love skiing?!) and offers unparalleled vistas of Oslo and its surrounding forests and fjords. Time to head back to the city centre while you sit back, relax and look for a photo to use for your next Instagram post.
