Scandinavia was once home to the Vikings - famed for seeking distant lands with green, fertile soil for farming and prime conditions for our people to thrive (let’s ignore the violence for a moment!). Now, on our sustainable tours in Scandinavia, you’ll see that we’ve calmed down somewhat; yet with less raiding and more saving our region, we’re still passionate to work and maintain our nature for the benefit of all. Whilst it may feel like we’re showing off...we sort of are! All three of our destinations have been awarded the European Green Capital since it began over ten years ago, so it’s fair to say we’ve earned such a humblebrag! It started with Stockholm in 2010 before Copenhagen took the torch in 2014 and most recently, in 2019, Oslo has completed our trio of cities worth visiting for some sustainable inspiration. Aiming to be carbon neutral by 2025, such projects as biomass burning and offshore wind farms have already led Denmark to provide 40% of its electricity via more sustainable processes. As for travel? So. Many. Bicycles! In fact, half the city’s people use them every day! Amongst the historic rivalry that has defined us Scandinavians over the centuries - Viking blood remember! - we’re proud to say we still challenge one another.
