Come and see how Oslo has grown from a Viking settlement to a modern capital city, always within close reach of the water (and if not water, then forest). On our Oslo From Coastline to City Private Driving Tour, we’ll experience the city through a scenic drive pinnacling with a sightseeing boat ride of the Oslo Fjord.
Starting out with a scenic drive through Oslo with your private driver and guide, we’ll pass impressive sites like Vigeland Park, with over 200 sculptures and iconic buildings such as the National Theater, home to famous Norwegian playwrights like Ibsen. We’ll also wave our hellos to the Royal Palace and the Norwegian Parliament, located along Karl Johans gate (you’ll want to come back here for shopping!). Before we leave the city centre streets to hop on the boat to explore the coastline, we’ll see the Oslo City Hall and Nobel Peace Center, hearing about one of the most famous annual events in Oslo, the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony.
Stepping on the sightseeing boat, enjoy a scenic boat ride of the Oslo Fjord and harbourside. From the water, we’ll see the peninsula of Bygdøy, home to the Fram Museum, Kontiki Museum, and many others. Snap fantastic photos of the Oslo Opera House, Akershus Fortress and the Oslo Fjord with a view from the water while listening to stories about what you’re seeing.
Return to the harbour in front of the Oslo City Hall; it’s a perfect starting point to continue exploring Oslo and the area of Aker Brygge and its boardwalk promenade leading to the island of Tjuvholmen. If you would rather be brought back to where we picked you up at the start of the tour, your private driver and guide will end your Oslo From Coastline to City Private Driving Tour there.
