Oslo & Viking Ship Museum

In Oslo, the Viking Ship Museum is not to be missed. Nor is the city centre! During our Oslo & Viking Ship Museum Private Walking Tour, we’ll pillage and plunder our way through the history of Norway just like the Vikings!

The story about the tour

All hail the Berserkers! Are the current day Norwegians anything like their ancestors? Join us for our Oslo & Viking Ship Museum Private Walking Tour and find out as we make our way through the city centre in search of the city’s “must-sees,” Norwegian tradition, and Viking culture.

Your pillage of Oslo (aka adventure) begins thousands of years ago when the area was entirely covered in ice from the last Ice Age… no, that’s just the Oslo Opera House, looking like an iceberg rising out of the fjord. Zigzagging our way through top-notch sights, we take on the city centre of Oslo like the Vikings conquered Lindisfarne. From the world-famous Norwegian Tiger (?!) to the Nobel Peace Centre we’ll cover fortresses, artists, politicians, royalty and everything in-between.

Following our escapades through the city centre, our quest takes us to Bygdøy and the Viking Ship Museum. As we enter the museum, we guarantee a jaw drop. These three Viking ships are the best preserved in the world! Don’t worry, we won’t rush the experience – after a guided tour inside, we offer you the option to finish our tour inside the Viking Ship Museum where you can further explore the treasures surrounding you or continue your pillaging and plundering through the surrounding museums on Bygdøy.

Successfully having raided the city centre of Oslo for the most famous sights, you’ll have gotten in touch with your inner Viking, becoming a little more Norwegian than when you first arrived in Oslo!

Please note: This tour ends at the Viking Ship Museum so guests may continue to enjoy the museum or continue to museums nearby. Guests make their own way back via public transport (tickets are included and provided by the guide).
