Oslo’s Amazing Architecture - Private Bike Tour

With innovative structures, original high-rises and historical buildings, in terms of architecture, Oslo has it all! On our Oslo’s Amazing Architecture Private Bike Tour, we’ll roll between architectural masterworks from past to present.

The story about the tour

When thinking of architecture in Oslo, what comes to mind? If it’s not modern buildings and structures, you’re in for a surprise! In recent years, some very bold buildings have shot up in the Norwegian capital. On our Oslo’s Amazing Architecture Private Bike Tour, we’ll showcase innovative museums, creative high-rises and Scandinavia’s best-looking opera house. If we may say so, you are in for a treat!

Jumping on our bikes, we’ll travel from the western shore and the trendy area of Aker Brygge and Tjuvholmen via the historical centre of Oslo – Kvadraturen – to the east and the new district of Bjørvika, spotting everything from stately hotels to a glass-encased library. Along the way, we’ll stop to admire, oh and ah, the many new works recently developed, like the National Museum and the new Munch Museum. We’ll also take the opportunity to discover some of the current architecture of the city, including the Akershus Fortress, the Barcode project, and the Astrup Fearnley Museum. We’ll also stop for a short break in lovely surroundings to keep you energised, where we can sit and relax, use a restroom or buy a snack.

On our Amazing Architecture Private Bike Tour, we’ll indulge in the architectural history of the capital and explore a great selection of buildings that make Oslo what it is; a green and modern Nordic city with a checkered past and ambitious targets. If architecture is your thing, Oslo is an exciting place to be!

Happy Nobel Day! 💡 As Nobel Week was cancelled in 2020, Nobel lectures, prizes and banquets were replaced with Nobel Week Lights - light installations inspired by Nobel Prize-awarded findings and laureates. As the festivities are now back, we sure hope that we are so lucky that the artwork brightening up the city during the darkest month of the year; is a December tradition that has come to stay. 💫

🇸🇪

It’s a contested issue amongst numerous Baltic connected countries as to who invented the Ice-skate. Was it the Finns or the Dutch? All of this is irrelevant because the best city to ice-skate in is Stockholm. If you want to show off your Quadruple Axel in front of the masses, the ice-rink in Kungsträdgården is the perfect location. ✨⛸️✨

Don't let its controversy cloud your curiosity as Christianshavns characteristic slanting roofs and canals, as well as the tremendous Church of Our Saviour, are well worth seeing. Not to forget the Færgecafé or Café Parterre who are both worth visiting.
