With an eager architect, skilful workers and a top spot, the Stockholm City Hall is a masterpiece. On our Stockholm’s Old Town & City Hall Private Walking Tour, we’ll tour two of our favourites sites, the Stockholm City Hall and Old Town.
The story about the tour
From the Nobel Prize Museum in the Old Town to the Nobel Prize Ceremony at Stockholm City Hall, walk in the footsteps of the medieval Stockholmers and the memory of Alfred Nobel. On our Stockholm’s Old Town & City Hall Private Walking Tour, we’ll blow (up) your mind with stories of impactful inventions and stories of the Swedish capital from previous centuries and modern times!
We’ll ensure that you see all the essentials of two of Stockholm’s top attractions and not miss a detail. Starting at Stortorget with an introduction to Stockholm’s Old Town and Alfred Nobel outside the Nobel Prize Museum, we’ll step off on a journey through the ages, including The Royal Palace, the narrowest alley of Stockholm and the German Church. Throw in a few stories about royalty, and you’re an expert!
Walking via the Island of Nobility, you can see one of the most iconic sights of Stockholm across the water of Lake Mälaren – the building in the distance is, you guessed it, the Stockholm City Hall. Complete with a tower topped with three golden crowns, beaming in the sunlight, it is a shining beacon seen from many parts of the city. Step inside as the guests of the Nobel Banquet do in December every year and waltz through the Blue Hall and the Golden Hall, greeted by incredible architecture. When they think of city halls, most people are not overly impressed, but you will be once you see this one, we promise!
To finish it off, we’ll end our tour with the beautiful view of the lake that you can appreciate from the Stockholm City Hall terrace, and if you would like, snap a photo of you and point you in the right direction for more to explore.
