The story about the tour
Södermalm. This trendy and bohemian area of the city, offers both small wooden houses from the 1700s and a fantastic view of the city. Gamla Stan. Or Old Town as we would say in English. Where every- thing once began. Small alleyways, cobbled streets, this island is home to the Royal Palace. As we wander the streets the history we will listen to stories and legends that make the Old Town come alive! We will also visit the Royal Palace, the King’s official residence. With 608 rooms it is the setting for most of the monarchy’s of cial receptions.
Norrmalm. Also known as the City Centre. Great shopping opportunities and
the focal point of modern Stockholm. In the back drop see the City Hall,
venue for the Nobel Prize Banquet. Why is the Blue Hall not blue? How tall is
the tower? How many bricks was used to put the building together? This is
one fascinating building!
Östermalm. The city’s most fashionable neighbourhood with stately apart-
ment buildings, fantastic architecture and scenic walkways.
Djurgården. Better known as the outdoor recreation centre for the city lo-
cals. The island is home to the Vasa Museum. Imagine a ship from the 1600s
which took three years to build, she takes of on her maiden voy- ages only
to sail for 20 minutes before going to the bottom of the sea. Today she lies
before us 98 % intact. This is a WOW experience!
