If you want to kick back and relax with the locals in Copenhagen, there are many places to go. One of them is Refshaleøen, where you’ll find restaurants, a beach bar, cable park and much more.

Up until 1996, the area it used to be home to one of the world’s largest shipyards, Burmeister & Wain. It’s really not hard to tell, with old containers and docks well-kept in the area. Nowadays the area of Refshaleøen functions as many things – offices and activity spaces, the venue for festivals and some restaurants. During summer the popular beach bar Halvandet offers sun beds, a champagne bar and beach volleyball. In 2018 this is where the newest food market in town will open – 1040 square meters inside and 5000 square meters outside, just by the water. Many things point to the fact that Refshaleøen actually might become the new “it” area in the city next year.
