The story about the tour
Are you ready to uncover Stockholm on wheels with your own personal driver and guide? Picking you up in an accessible van fitted with a ramp that allows you to stay seated in a wheelchair or scooter, we’ll travel through town and showcase all that Stockholm has to offer, including its vibrant city districts.
First up is the focal point of modern Stockholm; Norrmalm. It holds the main shopping street Drottninggatan, Hörtoget square, where the Stockholm Concert Hall is located, and Stockholm City Hall, where the Nobel Prizes are awarded each year. As you see the style of architecture change, we pass from one island to the next. We’re now driving through Gamla stan, the Old Town, where medieval buildings, narrow alleyways, and the Royal Palace are points to cross off your bucket list.
When you see the architecture change again, we’ve zoomed over another bridge and arrived on the island of Södermalm, the city’s trendy and bohemian area. Picture quaint wooden houses from the 1700s, fashion, design and great local bars. Not to mention – sensational views of the city! Across the water, also known as Lake Mälaren, you’ll catch a stunning view of yet another inner-city island, Kungsholmen.
From hipster to chic, the district with stately apartment buildings and grand architecture you find yourself in is Östermalm. Home to the Strandvägen boulevard, we are slowly making our way to our last city district, Djurgården. A leisure paradise best known as the outdoor recreation centre for city locals where the main street is lined with many of Stockholm’s most frequented museums: the Vasa Museum, the open-air museum of Skansen, and ABBA the Museum, to name a few. There’s so much to see!
