Stockholm’s Amazing Architecture

On our private walking tour of Stockholm’s Amazing Architecture, dive into the city’s rich architectural history and explore the city’s many styles. We give you classical, modern and futuristic tastefully pieced together!

The story about the tour

From classical masterpieces to futuristic skyscrapers, Stockholm is filled with fantastic architecture; The Stockholm Public Library by Gunnar Asplund is an excellent example of Swedish Grace. Skogskyrkogården, the Woodland Cemetary, known for its unusual landscape architecture and buildings, is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site. You don’t have to be an architect to love cool spaces! Uncover the creative mixture of structures that Stockholm offers on our private walking tour of Stockholm’s Amazing Architecture!

Like much of Sweden, Stockholm is a mixture of grand buildings reflecting the past and minimalistic architectural landmarks that perfectly exhibit the modern city’s love for clean lines. Together we’ll discover controversial developments like Slussen, the lock, and the Sergels Torg Fountain. Adventurous projects like the KTH School of Architecture and the greener-than-green Waterfront Centre. Historical constructions like Stockholm City Hall and the Nordic Museum. What do you think, plain or impressive?

With a selection of buildings built at different times and in various architectural styles, we’ll illustrate how old architecture and new modern buildings are neatly interwoven. Whether you like a particular style or not, this tour will give you insight into the architects’ will. We call it Stockholm’s Amazing Architecture Private Walking Tour; we hope you enjoy it!

Happy Nobel Day! 💡 As Nobel Week was cancelled in 2020, Nobel lectures, prizes and banquets were replaced with Nobel Week Lights - light installations inspired by Nobel Prize-awarded findings and laureates. As the festivities are now back, we sure hope that we are so lucky that the artwork brightening up the city during the darkest month of the year; is a December tradition that has come to stay. 💫

🇸🇪

It’s a contested issue amongst numerous Baltic connected countries as to who invented the Ice-skate. Was it the Finns or the Dutch? All of this is irrelevant because the best city to ice-skate in is Stockholm. If you want to show off your Quadruple Axel in front of the masses, the ice-rink in Kungsträdgården is the perfect location. ✨⛸️✨

Don't let its controversy cloud your curiosity as Christianshavns characteristic slanting roofs and canals, as well as the tremendous Church of Our Saviour, are well worth seeing. Not to forget the Færgecafé or Café Parterre who are both worth visiting.
