Medieval cobblestone streets, a treasure trove of a building and stories of its creator. Throw these things together for our Stockholm’s Old Town & City Hall Accessible Private Walking Tour. We promise – you are in for a treat!
The story about the tour
From a museum based on a businessman and inventor, who held 355 patents to the venue where the banquet for the prize he founded is now handed out, this Stockholm’s Old Town & City Hall Accessible Private Walking Tour will boggle your mind.
From the Nobel Prize Museum in the Old Town to the Nobel Prize Ceremony at Stockholm City Hall, our journey begins at Stortorget, introducing the area and Alfred Nobel. We’ll take the least bumpy cobblestone streets and dive into the history of Stockholm, discovering highlights such as The Royal Palace, the statue of St George & Dragon and The Riddarholmen Church.
On our way to the Stockholm City Hall, we’ll pass through the Island of Nobility, also covered in cobblestones. See the Stockholm City Hall sitting on the island of Kungsholmen like a Swan resting peacefully on the water. The many bricks and three gold-covered crowns reflected in Lake Mälaren make for quite the view. We assure you it’s one of those photos you want for your Instagram feed (or to remember you were here).
It’s time to go inside (accessible via ramp and elevator)! If you thought the Stockholm City Hall view was amazing, wait until you have seen the inside. Most famous are the Blue and Golden Halls, but there’s also the Council Chamber, check out the ceiling, and the Gallery of the Prince, with a painting that took five years to make. The details of this architectural masterpiece are remarkable! Once we have seen it all, the final stop is the City Hall terrace; it’s another great photo stop and the perfect location for us to point you in the right direction of where to go next.
