Have a planned vacation in Stockholm for New Year’s? Lucky you! It’s a wonderful time to be in the city. If you want to know where to go to look at fireworks, you’ve come to the right place! All of these are for free.

Stockholm is a city built on 14 islands, which means that there 1. are plenty of water surrounding the city, great for reflections and 2. a lot of heights and hills. Here’s our favourite spots for watching fire-works.

Fjällgatan is a classic when it comes to watching the fireworks in Stockholm. With it’s magnificent view over the waterfront of Stockholm, including Gamla stan and Skeppsholmen, you’ll see everything there is to see.

Skinnarviksberget is from where the photo above is taken. This hill/mountain shows you Kungsholmen, the City Hall and Riddarholmen. As if the photo hadn’t convinced you yet.

Västerbron might be a bit unconventional as it’s a bridge, but the thing is that this bridge is one of the highest points in the city AND it has views in two directions.

Slussen is also one of those super popular places, however it might be different during the construction of new Slussen.
