One of the most popular boroughs in Oslo is Aker Brygge – a relatively new area filled with fun and leisure. Go here for food, shopping and relaxation by the waterfront.
Aker Brygge is located on a former ship yard, rebuilt into a residential area in the end of the 1980s. Old industrial buildings was demolished and new areas for shopping, apartments and office spaces was built. Today the residential area measures up to 260 000m2. Today approx. 900 people live in Aker Brygge and 6000 has the area as their working place. Aker Brygge has gotten particularly known for it’s boardwalk, filled with restaurants and fashion shops.
Aker Brygge is close to the city center and is located just by the waterfront.
