We’ll cover the story of Alfred Nobel at the Stockholm City Hall and top the experience off by whizzing through the streets for a picturesque drive of Stockholm.
We begin the tour by picking you up in an accessible van, complete with a ramp making it possible to stay seated in a wheelchair or scooter as we travel through town. Once securely fastened (it’s a Swedish invention, after all), get familiarised with the inner city districts Norrmalm, Södermalm, Djurgården and the Old Town, including highlights such as the Vasa Museum, Parliament and The Royal Palace. Having left the best for last, our drive of the city concludes with a visit to the Stockholm City Hall located on the island of Kungsholmen.
First and foremost, the Stockholm City Hall (accessible via ramp and elevator) is a place of work; it’s where the Stockholm City Council has its offices. Secondly, it’s a stunning building open to visitors; let’s go inside! Strolling through halls and galleries, hear tales about the construction of this marvellous building and the architect behind it, details about politics and the ruling of the Swedish capital, not to mention the Nobel Banquette that takes place in the Blue Hall on the 10th of December each year.
