The story about the tour
Welcome to the northern regions of the world, where everyone is blond and blue-eyed and speaks like the Swedish Chef from the Muppets on Sesame Street! Okay, maybe not. But on occasion, the Swedes do drink out of ice glasses and sleep in hotel rooms made of ice. Join us on our Stockholm, Vasa Museum & Ice Bar Accessible Private Driving Tour and live on the wild side in Stockholm. Together we’ll roll into the Ice Bar, where everything is made out of pure ice. But first, an introduction to Stockholm! We will zoom through the city in our accessible van, covering many the districts of the city centre and the Vasa Museum before ending at the Ice Bar.
Starting from the beginning, the Old Town is where Stockholm was established. Adjacent Riddarholmen is home to one of the oldest constructions of the city, the Riddarholmen Church. As we drive through Norrmalm, it’s time for the “newer, more modern” part of the city. One of the most beautiful boulevards of the city, Strandvägen, is found in the opulent districts of Östermalm. Before you know it, we find ourselves on the island of Djurgården, nicknamed the “museum island.”
Home to the Vasa Museum, Stockholm’s most visited museum. We skip the line to enter. Once inside, we’ll learn the tale of the magnificent 333-year-old Vasa warship. From sailors to skeletons and 1600s warfare tactics to salvation, we steer our way between the museum’s cobblestoned floors by elevator.
Last but not least, it’s time to indulge ourselves to a well earned cold drink. And this one is ice cold! It’s -7°C (19°F) inside the Ice Bar, perfect for chilling your beverage as you take photos and admire the ice carvings. Before stepping inside the Ice Bar, you’ll be given warm ponchos and gloves since it’s only the bar and drinks that need to be chilled. Did we hear someone say skål (cheers)?!
After our exploration of the Ice Bar is complete, we cruise back and return you to your starting point.
Please note: A non-alcoholic option provided to guests under 18 or who do not drink alcohol. Due to high demand, the Ice Bar may not be available on short notice.
