Learn all about the antics of the Swedes as you stroll through the Old Town and visit the most well-preserved ship in the world. Our Stockholm’s Old Town & Vasa Museum Accessible Private Walking Tour includes all our favourites!
The story about the tour
Starting the tour, we set off down the smooth street surfaces leading us to the heart of Stockholm, the Old Town. As we journey closer, the broad streets transform into narrow cobblestoned alleys lined with colourful buildings from a time long, long ago. We take the least bumpy roads to see the Royal Palace, Stockholm Cathedral and the main square, Stortorget. We’ll cover topics such as royalty, weddings, and warfare as we walk.
We exit the heart of the Old Town and arrive at the pier of a public ferry (accessible via ramp). The ferry takes us across the harbour to Djurgården, better known as the city’s “Museum Island” (where most museums are accessible). See the city from one of her best sides, the water, during the 10-15 minute crossing.
Our final destination is the one-of-a-kind Vasa Museum. The story of the ship that took two years to build, 30 minutes to sail, and 333 years to salvage is not one to miss! Together we navigate between the cobblestoned floors by elevator. Getting a closer look at the ornately decorated stern, the colourful miniature ship model and the method used to salvage the Vasa.
Our Stockholm’s Old Town & Vasa Museum Accessible Private Walking Tour ends inside the museum to either continue your explorations or proceed to the nearby museums on your own.
